For some reason (and for me, the main downside to using WP) you can't embed objects within posts. Try it with any piece of flash embed code. WP provide a series of 'fixes' for the likes of YouTube (see http://wordpress.com/blog/2007/02/05/4-new-ways-to-embed-video/ for example) but don't currently allow users to embed non-approved objects. very annoying.
